All client tickets raised to ClearPeople are now closed, and we now consider this issue resolved. We'll close this article now with this final update.
In closing, we note the general search issue is ongoing under Service health - Microsoft 365 admin center - SP709902 . We're not aware of this impacting the Atlas community at this time.

We found that this issue had cleared for us at ClearPeople by 19:30 last night, with other clients reporting as resolved too.
We expect the worse is over and for users to find the People Directory results populated
One of the Microsoft Health Centre issues, [SP712697] has also been updated to service restored. The other item SP709902 remains open for the time being.

In addition to these items, the loud voice raised through various tickets raised to MSFT from Atlas clients, might help Microsoft quickly mitigate the global impact this is having.
We do not have a viable workaround at this time.

We have been made aware of an issue affecting multiple tenants where the People Directory search is not displaying results and appears <BLANK>
At this time, we believe this to be a Microsoft issue, probably caused by an ongoing SharePoint Online Search issue: Service health - Microsoft 365 admin center
If you are experiencing this issue you are encouraged to raise this directly with Microsoft. Do please share your Microsoft ticket number with us, where we will escalate en masse as part of the Atlas community.
