ConneX provisioning issues due to Microsoft changes on Files and Wiki Microsoft Teams Tabs

We are aware that Microsoft are rolling out changes to the default tabs provisioned in Microsoft Teams. This has the potential to cause issues for Connex Studio users, in a scenario where they create New Workspaces from Newly created Templates. 

For 5.x Customers

Microsoft is rolling out changes to the default tabs provisioned in Microsoft Teams. These changes affect the Atlas provisioning engine, making it essential for you to upgrade to the latest hotfix package in 5.0+ to avoid issues with ConneX provisioning. This HotFix will be released on Monday February 19^th.

For 4.3 and lower Customers

Microsoft is rolling out changes to the default tabs provisioned in Microsoft Teams. These changes affect the Atlas provisioning engine, making it essential for you to upgrade to at least Atlas 5.0 package in 5.0+ to avoid issues with ConneX provisioning. This HotFix will be released on Monday February 19^th.

What to expect if you do not update? 

• New created templates:
  • The creation of new templates will work fine however…
  • …When provisioning new sites from new templates, it could fail if the tenant has applied the changes that Microsoft is deploying.
• Existing Templates:
  • Provisioning of new sites with existing templates will work provided the templates do not have the Wiki tab.

Root cause:

• Microsoft is introducing changes on the provisioning of the Files tab and Wiki tab (now deprecated). 
• We identified these updates in tenants with Microsoft status of [Targeted Release] enabled. It might be that your Tenant has NOT received the Microsoft changes that cause this issue, however we urge you to consider updating as soon as possible, especially if you plan to create new workspaces from new templates   

How to identify this issue?

Where a workspace fails to provision, the error that you could see in the Azure Application Insights logs would be similar to these: 

Files Tab Issue:

SavedTemplateProvisioningActivity Exception while invoking endpoint https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/teams/XXXX/channels/XXXX. {"error":{"code":"BadRequest","message":"Patch operation not allowed on static tabs","innerError":{"code":"InvalidRequest","message":"Patch operation not allowed on static tabs".

Wiki Tab Issue:

'SavedTemplateProvisioningActivity (Activity)' failed with an error. Reason: System.ApplicationException: Exception while invoking endpoint https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/teams/XXXX/channels/XXXXX System.Exception: {"error":{"code":"BadRequest","message":"The specified app does not support tabs. How to avoid this issue:

• If you are on 5.0, please arrange to update to the latest HotFix, available from Monday 19th February.
• If you are on 4.3 or lower, please arrange to update to Atlas 5.0 asap, from Monday 19th February
