From Atlas 5.0 onwards there is an additional Tenant Property which will allow you to select a secondary colour to enhance your branding capabilities.
In this article:
Overview
SharePoint and Atlas Theming allows 1x primary brand colour choice, however now there is the opportunity to bring in a contrasting colour to bring attention to specific areas and create new possibilities with branding and imagery.
Once the new branding colour has been set-up, you will be able to use this colour in the In Focus Webpart Configuration from within the 'Item Styles' option. In the below example, the primary Atlas theme is Navy Blue, however we have mapped Yellow to the additional branding slot and can be selected to bring this colour into your in focus configuration - in a number of ways.
Card Theme
The card theme will push the yellow colour to the in focus cards.
Below we can see how the yellow looks in the standard 'Cards' item style option
Herewe can see how the yellow looks in the standard 'Visual Cards' item style option
This is similar to the Hero webpart
Image Filter
Using the 'In the Spotlight' item style, we can alter the card theme to navy (main theme colour), but the image filter to yellow, which will apply an overlay to the images.
However we can swap these colours around to make the card theme yellow and the image filter as navy
You can explore the combinations available to you and produce stronger branding around in focus webparts
These features are available across all in focus webparts in Atlas 5.0+

How to turn configure the Atlas.Theme.Accent Tenant Property
A SharePoint Administrator will need to access your Atlas Tenant Properties from inside the Atlas Configuration Site, and insert the new HEX code for the additional brand colour into the tenant property called Atlas.Theme.Accent. All you need to do is insert the new HEX code as the value and save.
