Our new Multi-Geo feature brings a truly global dimension to Atlas, allowing you to host Atlas workspaces across multiple Microsoft 365 tenants in different data centre locations so that the data users are using is hosted close to their working location, improving performance.
Features
Geo Selection at Provisioning: Choose your workspace data center location during workspace creation for optimal performance and compliance.
Centralized Management: Admins and editors can configure all Atlas settings from one unified interface, ensuring a consistent experience across regions.
Seamless User Experience: Your personal preferences, custom links, and taxonomy labels sync automatically across all geos, maintaining consistency no matter where you log in.
Enhanced Search Scope: Find content across all geos by default, or limit results to a specific region when needed—offering full control over how you discover information in Atlas.
Known Limitations
Currently we know that Multi-Geo Atlas setups do not work properly if you try to use Modal Windows to display content from one Geo in another, even if we allow the relevant domains. This limitation comes from Microsoft so there is no way for us to work around this. In such scenarios, we recommend simply not using Modal Windows and instead just using standard content cards which link to the content.
Similarly, users from different Geos cannot be picked from People Picker columns, this is limited to only your own Geo.
