Please note that Delve is being deprecated by Microsoft. We do not believe they intend to replace it with anything, rather you will just use the Profile cards to update information. We will update this article once we know the new situation.
User Profiles are the only area of Microsoft 365 that every user will have some control over. Your profile allows you to provide some information about yourself and your skills. You can navigate to your profile by clicking on your picture in the top right of the page and clicking My profile.
This takes you to Delve which is the Microsoft 365 user profile and allows you to see what your colleagues are working on:
You can get a lot of information from this page through these actions:
- Use the Search box to look for information across Microsoft 365
- Click MyAnalytics to see information about working habits, time spent in meetings etc.
- Click any other person’s name or face to go their Delve profile
- Click Update Profile under your contact information to edit your profile
- See your recent documents and open them directly.
- See the Delve profiles of the people around you.
Note: Delve only shows your documents to others if they already have access. If you visit other user profiles, you can only see their documents if you have access. |
Microsoft 365 uses machine learning to produce a set of documents related to you based on your file activity and interactions with colleagues. It also keeps hold of a list of recently modified documents within Microsoft 365 for each user, so you can search for a user as in the previous section, then instantly see the documents they have worked on recently. Delve always respects the security and permissions applied to these items. This area will improve as more documents and content are added to the sites.
