The Hover Menu can be configured with up to four levels beneath the main menu items and helps users understand the scope of Atlas, taking a deep dive into the available sections and content without leaving the page they are currently looking at.
In Atlas 3.2 we added the option to configure the number of rows shown without a scroll bar in the Hover Menu. See: Configure the number of rows in the Hover Menu
Each item on the Hover Menu is security trimmed so that users do not see links which they do not have access to and would otherwise lead them to an "Access Denied" screen.
Any Headings created with a link behind them will show their dropdown on hover on desktop, while on Mobile they will have an arrow next to them which can be tapped to reveal the links underneath.
In the event that more than seven items are supposed to appear in the fourth level a second column will appear to the right of it. If more than fourteen items are supposed to appear then a scroll bar will be added to allow access to all items.
In the event that the items in the first level take up more horizontal space than available on the user’s screen on desktop they will be hidden below an ellipsis on the right, and the dropdown part of the Hover Menu will adjust to put the hidden items in first column. The other columns will be moved to the right, restricting the fourth level to a single column of seven items before a scrollbar appears.
