The Mandatory Reads web part shows the visiting user specific documents flagged by the organisation for them to read:
If there are multiple documents to read you can page between them using the arrows in the top right. Each document can be read without leaving the current page by clicking Read Document to open the document in a lightbox. Once the document has been read users can click to confirm that they have read it and this is recorded in their profile.

Configuration
When editing a page this web part can be configured with the following options:
- The first field lets you change the title of the web part shown on the page
- The second field lets you change the description [not currently shown so can be ignored]
- The third option lets you set the maximum number of items to display in the carousel
- The final option lets you set visibility of the web part if there are no items to show to the user currently viewing the page.

Mandatory Read Tasks have an Expiration Date, so if you prefer not delete them you can also simply have them hide automatically based on the Expiration Date.
Report on Mandatory Read Tasks via Script (Atlas 3.X)
From Atlas 3.0 onwards you can create a report of your Mandatory Read Tasks showing who has read each document. To learn how to create such a report please refer to the linked article: Mandatory Reads Report script
