We believe that everyone, regardless of their role, location, or abilities should be equipped with the right tools and information to work more effectively.
Microsoft 365 and Atlas both provide accessibility features that help all users use the site and view information regardless of any disability or impairment. In this article we will call out these features so that you know what users with disabilities or impairments may experience when using Atlas.
In this article:
Visual Modes
Clear, Dark or High Contrast modes are available in Atlas and across all Teams apps like Connect and Add It. These can help some users to reduce or avoid eye strain when using these apps.
Keyboard-only
Atlas has enabled the ability to navigate using only the keyboard by pressing TAB to move between the interactive parts of the current page. This is useful for users who use assistive technology such as Screen Readers or Braille Keyboards rather than using a mouse.
Narrator
Atlas is Narrator tested. For the blind or those with acute sight limitations, Narrator is a vital tool which will read the contents of any page, window, or application to the user.
Microsoft 365 Accessibility features
Atlas is built on Microsoft 365 so we can take advantage of all the work Microsoft have put into accessibility as well as providing the features mentioned above. Below you can find links to official Microsoft materials around Accessibility, specifically;
