How to change the Atlas browser icon (favicon)

In this article we will show how to change the icon shown in browser tabs where Atlas is loaded. By default, the Atlas logo will be shown:

To change this icon, you will need sufficient permissions to add and edit content in the Atlas Configuration site, usually deployed at /sites/atlasconfiguration.

• Go to the Atlas Configuration site in your tenant
• Open the Atlas Assets library from the left hand menu
• Open the Favicons folder
• There are three files that need to be replaced and you must keep the same filenames:

• The pixel size for the three files are as follows:
  • favicon.ico 48 x 48px
  • favicon-16x16.png 16 x 16px
  • favicon-32x32.png 32 x 32px
• To replace the images, you should first check out these three files, then upload your new favicons at the correct pixel sizes, with the same filenames, and confirm to overwrite the current versions.
• Finally, check in the new files as Major (published) versions.

The favicon.ico file will replace the icon you see in your browser tab window and any browser bookmarks you create (third option on the right in the below screenshot).

                         

Users may not see the new icon immediately unless they clear their browser cache for the site.
