In Atlas we make it easy for users to Add content using our Add It tool, but as an Editor or Administrator you may also need to be able to Edit or Delete items and content from the system. These tasks are not done via Add It but instead content is managed inside the workspace it was added to.
Please note that if you want to edit any kind of Page you do not need to follow these steps (although they would still work) - instead you can simply navigate to the page and click Edit in the top right. For tips on editing page content you can read this article: Editing Modern Atlas pages

Locate the content you need to manage
In Atlas there are two simple ways to locate a piece of content in order to edit or delete it.
Please note that not all content can be shown on an In Focus card, for example Useful Links, so for such items please use the Site contents method to locate them.
Using the In Focus card
The first step is to find the content you need to Edit or Delete. You can usually do this very easily for Atlas content, for example if it is shown using an In Focus component you can click the ellipsis (...) on the card and click Go to source:
This will take you to the List or Library in Atlas that contains the content shown on the card.
Please bear in mind that for an Atlas Spotlight item this will take you to the Spotlights list even if the Spotlight item links to a different type of content such as a Document.
Using the Site Contents view
If you already know which Atlas Workspace contains your content, you can instead go directly to the correct workspace, then from the top right in the M365 bar click the Settings cogwheel icon, then choose Site contents:
From the Site contents view you will see a number of Lists and Libraries. Those which contain Atlas content are highlighted below:
Click on the name of the List or Library that would contain your content to open it. Some examples:
- The "Documents" library contains Atlas Documents
- The "External Insights" list contains Atlas External Insights
- The "Site Pages" library contains Atlas Knowledge Pages, News Pages, Landing Pages, Location Pages and also a Templates folder containing the templates for these page types (as well as any custom templates you may have created in the current workspace.
Edit or Delete content
Once you have located the List or Library containing your content using one of the options above, you will see a list of the items. You'll need to locate the specific item to edit in the list, then right click on it and choose Edit or Delete from the menu that appears. If you edit an item, make sure you save your changes when you're done.
The exception to this if you want to edit the content of a page, in which case you would click on the Name of the page in this list, then once the page loads click Edit in the top right. Make sure you Publish your changes when you're done.
If you Delete an item it will be removed from the list, moved to the Recycle Bin, and after a few minutes will stop appearing in Search and In Focus components. It can be recovered from the Recycle Bin by an Administrator for up to 90 days.
If you Edit an item, you'll see any effects of your edits in a few minutes - for example if you change the tags it may take a few minutes for the item to start appearing in workspaces that match the new tags.
