Using ConneX, you can edit most of the workspace properties for existing workspaces, for example updating the name, default metadata tags and permissions.

Edit a workspace
- To get started, navigate to ConneX and find the card for the workspace you want to edit. In the top right of the card, click the ellipsis (...) then click Edit:
- ​Clicking Edit will open a panel like this showing all the current details. You can just scroll down, or you can use the tracker on the left hand side to jump to specific sections:
- Some properties/selections can be edited and others cannot. The Workspace Type for example cannot be edited, but the Title, URL, Description, default metadata, privacy setting, permissions and Add It configuration can all be changed from this screen. - Note 1: Be aware that changing default metadata will push down into the Lists and Libraries and the default values for this workspace will be changed. However, content that was already created will not be updated, so you'll need to make such changes to existing content manually if required.
- Note 2: Changing the URL will commonly break links to content within the workspace. You should consider all the places content in a workspace may be linked from and be prepared to go and fix those links.
- At the bottom of the screen you can click to Discard changes or View summary:
- If you click Discard changes, no changes will be made to the workspace. If instead you click View summary you will be presented with a screen showing all the information we just saw, but with any changes highlighted in bold so you can see at a glance what will change. For example below we are only changing the default tag for Subject:
- Finally, click Apply changes to confirm that you want all the changes shown in the summary, or Cancel to go back and change something else:
- Once you have clicked Apply changes, you'll be taken back to ConneX and you'll see the Editing status on the workspace card:
- Once the changes are complete the card will stop showing this message, but no emails are sent to confirm completion. Usually workspaces only remain in the Editing status for a few minutes unless you've made a lot of changes.
