Please note that not all versions of Atlas include all layouts described here. To ensure you have all available layouts please upgrade to the latest Atlas version.

Accordion
This is the default layout for the FAQs In Focus web part and does not support any other type of content. Visually it is the most plain, only showing the question text for each item until expanded. The expanded area can include images and embeds as well. In this example the second item is expanded hence the arrows on the left.
Carousel
This is the most common default layout for In Focus and is appropriate for all Atlas content types except FAQs and People. When you add In Focus web parts for Documents, External Insights, Spotlights, Events and all types of Pages you will get this layout by default.
Items are shown horizontally in a single row, and the number of items shown will depend on both the size of the page section you add it to and the resolution of the screen it is viewed on.
Here you can see this layout viewed in a single column section with no vertical section on the right, on a 1080p screen. In this scenario four items will be shown:
You can use the arrows or paging controls to see more items, or swipe across on touch screens.
In Atlas 3.3, content cards for pages in this layout will display the Summary text on hover:
Details List
This layout is ideal when a more traditional view of information is required, for example when users need to choose between a number of similar documents based on their metadata. This layout supports all Atlas content but for FAQs and People it doesn't make much sense to use it.
By default this view will show the Title, Created Date and Summary but can be modified to show Atlas metadata or even your own custom metadata if required.
Hero Carousel
To use this layout you need to have Atlas version 3.0 or higher. Please speak to your CSM if you need to arrange an update.
This layout is intended to provide a hybrid of the functionality of the Carousel In Focus layout described above and the out of the box Microsoft Hero web part. Either 1 or 2 items can be shown at a time - below we can see the view with 2 documents shown in a standard section:
You can use the arrows or paging controls to see more items, or swipe on touch screens.

In the Spotlight
To use this layout you need to have Atlas version 3.1 or higher. Please speak to your CSM if you need to arrange an update.
This layout is intended to provide a hybrid of the search functionality of the In Focus web part and the layout of the out of the box Microsoft Hero web part in Layers mode.

In Atlas 3.3, content cards for pages in this layout will display the Summary text on below the title.
List
To use this layout you need to have Atlas version 4.0 or higher. Please speak to your CSM if you need to arrange an update.
This layout mimics the look and feel of the Microsoft Quick Links web part but allow you to bring in results using Atlas rather than manually configuring the links on each page.
People
This layout is the default for People results, and should only really be used for that. If you try to use this layout for other content you will likely find that the content is not rendered as expected.
If you add the People Directory (Atlas) web part to your page the layout shows the profile picture, name, combined Job Title and Department, email address and location. If you configure an In Focus web part from scratch the default configuration may be different, so we recommend just adding the People Directory (Atlas) web part to save time.
Tiles
This layout uses the same item cards as the Carousel layout, but spans over multiple rows and allows you determine the number of cards shown per page. This is the layout used for Listing pages in Atlas.
Although the size of the items and number per row are still dynamically adjusted for the section and screen size of the user, the number of items per page is set. In this example we are showing 6 items per page, so if viewed on a smaller screen it will use more rows to show the items but still show all 6.
In Atlas 3.3, content cards for pages in this layout will display the Summary text on hover.
Visual Tiles
To use this layout you need to have Atlas version 3.1 or higher. Please speak to your CSM if you need to arrange an update.
The Visual Tiles layout is designed to be similar to the default Carousel layout while giving more space to the image. You can see an example below showing different types of content:
For more details on this layout please click here: Visual Tiles - In Focus Results Layout
In Atlas 3.3, content cards for pages in this layout will display the Summary text on hover.
Custom and Debug
The Custom and Debug layouts are not intended for general use.
The Custom layout can be specified using the fields below after the layout is selected, but generally you would need a developer to create one before you can use it here.
The Debug layout allows issues with other layouts to be identified by showing all information for the results being returned by the current Result Source. This is only really intended for use by ClearPeople Support, but it may also be useful if you have developers building custom layouts.
