Atlas includes a Secure Script Editor web part to cover some scenarios not supported by the Microsoft Embed web part. You can now embed into your Atlas pages any custom or third party scripts opening an infinite number of possibilities to enrich your digital workspace experience from other systems, such as showing a Stock Ticker embedded from another website.
This web part requires administrative action to enable the web part, and additionally to enable specific domains for embeds. This ensures that you can keep control over what can be embedded.

Add and configure the Script Editor web part on a page
Enable the Script Editor web part
To enable the Script Editor web part you'll need to be a Tenant Administrator for the Microsoft 365 tenant. See how to access the Tenant Properties page by clicking here, then locate the setting named Atlas.EnableScriptEditor:
By default this is set to false which means the web part cannot be used. To enable it, select the setting shown above, then scroll to the top of the page and click Edit. In the panel that appears replace the text false with true and then save your change.
Enable specific domains to be embedded
As well as enabling the web part itself, Site Collection Administrators for each workspace will need to specify which domains content can be embedded from, for example your own website, or a third party website that provides useful data for your organisation.
To see how to do this please see the following article: Enable external URLs for content embeds
Add and configure the Script Editor web part on a page
- To get started, add the web part to your page by clicking the + and searching for "script editor":
- Click on it to add the web part to your page. If you see an error message at this stage you probably need to enable the web part as explained earlier in this article.
- Click the "pencil" icon to the left of the web part to start editing:
- The editing panel is very simple - you can set the web part Title to be shown above the web part, and click the "curly brackets" icon to paste in the actual script you want to use:
Note - you can simply blank the Title field if you don't want to show any title. - Clicking the icon brings up a new panel to paste in your script. Once you're ready, click Save to set the script, or Cancel to back out without adding the script:
- Assuming your script itself works, this should be all that is required to get it running on a page in your Atlas workspace.
Still need help?
Please get in touch with support or your CSM for further advice or assistance. Please note that we cannot support issues with your scripts, only issues with the web part itself.
