This article provides a short guide on the Microsoft Licensing you need to have in place in order to utilise Atlas.
Which license do we need?
Microsoft Enterprise Licensing is required. This is split into 2 varieties: Microsoft 365 and Office 365 - the major difference being that Office 365 licenses do not come with a Windows license for the user, but the cloud capabilities are almost identical.

Atlas will work with either Enterprise license type, Office or Microsoft – there is no difference from our perspective, however, Atlas admins need a minimum of an E3 license - although we recommend the full E5 license for these admins.
How about security?
Regarding security, E5 licenses provide the most advanced security features with E3 only receiving the 'standard' Microsoft security. You can use the link below and click on each row to show the differences between Microsoft 365 E3 and E5 licensing, with security primarily displayed from the Information protection and Threat protection options.
