Quick Add It can be used from any In Focus web part as long as it has been configured to appear by site owners or editors. If you want to use Quick Add It but you do not see a New button on the relevant In Focus web part, you could follow one of these paths:
- Use Add It from the plus (+) button in the top right of the Atlas header for the full Add It experience which lets you create all permitted content types for each workspace.
- If you are an editor for the current workspace you can enable the use of Quick Add It by following the steps here: Enable Quick Add It for an In Focus web part
This article will assume that you have Quick Add It available to be able to follow the steps.
Create content using Quick Add It
Click the New button on the In Focus web part for which you want to create a new piece of content. If the web part is for example "News (Atlas)" it will automatically know you want to create a News Page, and the Quick Add It panel will load instantly when clicking New.
If you configured a web part with multiple content types, you will see a menu when you click on New:
The Quick Add It panel will load on the right hand side of the screen. Since you already chose the type of content you want to create the panel is entirely dedicated to creating that type of content. So for News the panel already knows you want to create News:
The panel may have slightly different options depending on the type of content, but in general the required metadata is shown first, and the optional metadata is collapsed under its own section underneath.
Title is an exception when creating Documents since as of the Atlas 3.3 release it is not required, but we do encourage users to fill it. If it is not filled in the Filename will be used in place of the Title.
Once you've filled in the metadata as required for your content, click Submit to create it. For Page-based content types you'll be redirected to the page to edit it and add content. For other content types you've done all you need to do and your content is now added to the system.
