Atlas Deployments Pre-Requisites

Atlas is built on and for Microsoft 365 with technical dependencies on Microsoft Azure Entra ID (AAD), Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Graph, Microsoft Search, SharePoint Online and, optionally, Power Automate and Power Platform.  It is therefore mandatory to have a Microsoft 365 tenant (aka Office 365 tenant) before deploying Atlas.  

It is important to understand that a range of Atlas features and tools are maintained and managed within Azure. It is recommended that these are managed within one designated Azure subscription (i.e., it is recommended to create a single Azure subscription for the purpose of Atlas features).  

ClearPeople will need at least one Azure Admin account to deploy all the needed resources in the Azure subscription

ClearPeople will need at least one user account with an E3 license to perform the deployment.

This account should be assigned SharePoint Administrator or greater privileges as certain properties such as Search and User Profiles are deployed at a Tenant level and used for certain SPFx components

To have a successful Atlas deployment the tenant will require an Azure Subscription. This subscription cannot be a trial one or the installation will fail.

Therefore, as a minimum you'd need to enable one azure subscription and a license E3, E5 per user, depending on the level of permissions you want that user to have.

A resource group in Azure to house all of the Atlas functions will also be required

The key requirements are:

• Microsoft 365 tenant
• 1 Azure subscription (Not a trial or free subscription “pay-as-you-go” model)
• Licenses E3 or E5
• A user (client side) with Global Administrator permissions
• One user account (ClearPeople) with an E3 license assigned SharePoint Administrator or greater privileges
• Pre-requisites to be performed by client (runbook to be provided)
• Resource Group
