In a remote working environment information may be stored in Cloud services which can be accessed from many locations and devices.
Atlas is built on top of SharePoint technology within the Microsoft 365 cloud service using responsive design principles, and as such can be accessed by computers, tablets and smartphones in the user's browser. "Responsive" means that Atlas has a dynamic design which will change depending on the screen size and pixel resolution used, so mobile and tablet users will have a different user experience due to different screen size.
There are 3 ways to access Atlas from a mobile device. These are:
- Using a web browser
- Using Microsoft Viva Connections via Microsoft Teams App from your device app store.
- Using the Microsoft SharePoint App from your device app store
To access company data from a non-company device you will need to sign in to Microsoft 365 with your company account. Please note that your company may disable this functionality for non-company devices or require the user to provide additional authentication methods for security reasons.
Web Browsers
It is strongly recommended to use the latest version of Chromium based browsers on Android devices and Safari in iOS/iPadOS devices for the best browser based mobile experience.

SharePoint App
Atlas can also be accessed via the SharePoint App. The app will need to be downloaded to your device and you will need to sign in with your work account. Atlas can then be accessed for your frequent sites.
Please be aware that Microsoft have made some changes within the SharePoint app which have an impact on the Atlas menu. There are instances where the menu does not appear at the bottom of the screen:
For Android devices, download the app from Google Play Store
For IOS devices, download the app from Apple App Store
Microsoft Viva Connections
Microsoft Viva Connections is a branded application experience in Microsoft Teams. The Viva Connections app can be used to create a customer App (Atlas) in Microsoft Teams. Once the app has been added, it will appear in the Teams app bar in the desktop and mobile Microsoft Teams experience.
On opening the Teams app on your mobile device you will see the Viva Connections dashboard on the bottom left. This can be configured to have a single card which takes you directly to Atlas. Atlas can also be accessed via the Resource menu which is located in the top right.
Please note that the IT department will need to configure Viva Connections accordingly in order for it to display - it is not configured OOTB. We can provide guidance for this as part of the Atlas Implementation process.
