Layout configuration options for In Focus web parts (Atlas 4.0 to 4.3) – Atlas by ClearPeople

In this article we describe all of the detailed options for every In Focus layout. Click the layout you're interested in below to go straight to the right section.

Details List layout

For the Details List layout you have the following options:

Manage columns - open the panel to choose which columns are shown. More detail below.
Show file icon - toggle on to show file icons to the left of the items in the list
Compact Mode - toggle on to reduce the space taken by each row
Show context menu - show the ellipsis seen in libraries giving access to additional options
Show border - toggle on to add a border.

Click Manage columns to determine the column values to be returned for each item. Please note that fields used here must be added to the Selected Properties list in the Search settings on the previous configuration panel. This will open a panel over the page:

You can show as many columns as you want in this layout, but bear in mind the width of the page section where you want to show the web part. You can use the Handlebars expression option to combine multiple metadata properties into a single column for the item. For example, we can use the following expression to combine the Reference and Title properties into a single column:

{{CPReferenceOWSTEXT}} - {{Title}}

If you do not need to combine any fields, you can uncheck Use Handlebars expression and choose the appropriate Managed Property from the dropdown. To see the Managed Properties for Atlas properties please refer to the following article: Atlas Managed Properties for Search

List layout

For the List layout you have the following options:

Show context menu - show the ellipsis seen in libraries giving access to additional options
Show border - toggle on to add a border around each item.

People layout

For the People layout you have the following options:

Manage persona fields - click to determine the fields to be returned on each result card
Picture size - choose the picture size to be used.

Click Manage persona fields to determine the fields to be returned on each card. Please note that fields used here must be added to the Selected Properties list in the Search settings on the previous configuration panel. This will open a panel over the page:

You are limited to showing 5 fields on the cards, but you can use the Handlebars expression option to combine multiple Profile fields into a single field for the card. For example, in the default configuration the FirstName and LastName fields are combined using the following expression:

{{FirstName}} {{LastName}}

Carousel layout

For the Carousel layout you have the following options:

Show placeholder card if no result - instead of showing a blank web part or hiding the web part when there are no results, a placeholder can appear instead
Show navigation controls always - toggle to always show the arrows, otherwise they only appear on hover
Infinite scrolling - toggle on to go back to the first item after reaching the last one. Toggle off to stop at the last item.
Auto play - move to the next result after X seconds
Advance element every (seconds) - number of seconds per item for the auto play
Pause on hover - toggle on to allow the user to pause auto scrolling by hovering their mouse over the web part.
Select card theme - choose how the cards look on the page.

Hero Carousel layout

For the Hero Carousel layout you have the following options:

Show/hide the title so only the image is displayed
Show/hide the shadow gradient - which removes vignette around the outside of the image
Show/hide the navigation controls (left or right arrows)
Turn infinite scrolling on/off (whether the last image is reached),
Turn auto play on/off
Set the number of seconds the carousel stays on each item
Turn pause on hover on/off (control whether movement is paused while hovering the mouse).

Tiles layout

For the Tiles layout you have the following options:

Show placeholder card if no result - instead of showing a blank web part or hiding the web part when there are no results, a placeholder can appear instead
Select card theme - choose how the cards look on the page.

Visual Tiles layout

For the Visual Tiles layout you have the following options:

Show/hide the type label (shown below the image in the card, increasing the height)
Show/hide the titles so only the images are displayed
Show/hide the date (shown at the bottom of the card, increasing the height)
Show/hide the context menu (ellipsis overlay in the bottom right of the card)
Show/hide the border around the card.

In the Spotlight layout

For the In the Spotlight layout you have the following options:

Show/hide the title so only the image is displayed
Show/hide the type label (shown above the title in each layer)
Show/hide the date (shown below the title in each layer)
Show/hide description (shown below the date in each layer)
Show/hide the call to action link (at the bottom of the non-image part of each layer)
Set the text for the call to action link.

Accordion layout

For the Accordion layout you have just one option. This layout is best with the default configuration.

Click Manage accordion fields to change the information shown on each FAQ.

We don't recommend changing these fields, but if you have a specific requirement please get in touch for further advice.
