As requested by a number of customers, in Atlas 4.0 we have added the ability to filter content in search by the Sensitivity Label. This data comes from the Microsoft "Sensitivity Labels" feature in SharePoint and OneDrive which you can read more about here: Enable sensitivity labels for Office files - Microsoft Purview (compliance) | Microsoft Docs
This is not turned on by default, so in this article we will show how to turn this on and show the refiner in the In Focus Filters web part. Please be aware that you should take a look at this other guide before following the steps below so that you understand how to modify the filters: Refinement Filters configuration for In Focus web parts
Edit the page where you need to add the filter
In this guide we assume you already have a page with an In Focus web part connected to an In Focus Filters web part. This could be a Listing page or any other page with the web parts configured.
Start by editing the page, then hover over and edit the In Focus Filters web part (click the pencil icon):
This will open the configuration panel on the right side of the page.
Add the Sensitivity Label filter as a refiner
Under Refiner settings click the Edit refiners button:
The default configuration will depend on which In Focus Filters web part you have added. The example refiners below are defaults on the Documents Filters web part:
To add a refiner, look below the current refiners at the grey bar, then on the left click into the dropdown for the Filter managed property and select the Managed Property "InformationProtectionLabelID". If you do not see this in the list you can just paste it or type it in.
To complete the configuration, on the new refiner row you added:
- Click Edit and enter the display name you want to show for the refiner, e.g. "Sensitivity Labels"
- Choose the Refiner template "Multi-value refinement item"
- Choose the Refiner sort type - "Alphabetical"
- Choose the Sort order - "Ascending"
- Finally we have two checkboxes for certain behaviours - "Expand filter by default" and "Show filter for refinement values" - these can be left blank.
At the end you should have a refiner configured as shown below:
Finally, save and/or publish your page. You'll now be able to use the Sensitivity Labels filter for your results just like any other refiner:
