If there's 1 challenge all HR teams have in common than it's to make sure they have a slick process for new joiners to get up and running correctly and as fast as possible. Depending on your type of business, the role etc. you might need a less or more complex onboarding process but one thing is for sure, you can easily do that with Atlas.
Atlas provides you with the perfect functionality to achieve this without any High-Tec or indepth development. No, you can just by use our standard Atlas features and functionality!
To give you an example I want to introduce you to a very simple but also very effective onboarding process, fully setup using Atlas functionality.
Simple Department onboarding
Let's assume you want to make sure all newcomers for a certain Department are presented with the necessary information and in you want them to go through some content during the 5 first days of them joining the Department.
What you can do is use the capabilities of the Atlas HoverPoint webpart to make sure you guide your new joiners through the process.
As a start you just make sure you have a very basic HoverPoint image (meaning, just an image you can download somewhere or create yourself)
For each of the days you can now configure HoverPoints to guide the new starter to do whatever you want them to do on that specific day.
HoverPoint cards are extremely customizable and you can in fact put on the card whatever you like, to make sure it looks exactly how you want it to look.
In our example for day 1 we have added:
- an image on top of the card (could also have been a video for example),
- a welcome message as a title,
- a message explaining our process,
- and a hyperlink to a dedicated page that hosts all of the stuff we effectively want the new joiner to do on day 1
The new joiner can also use the "Next" button to get the overview of what will be awaiting for him/her to do on the other days of their 5 day onboarding journey.
As mentioned above on our HoverPoints we added a hyperlink to a dedicated page with all details for each of the 5 days.
In our example we want the newcomer to go through some mandatory reads and we provide some interesting FAQs.
An important part on this page is also the Call to Action webpart allowing the new team member to go back to our initial HoverPoint image
Using that Call to Action the new joiner can easily navigate back to the onboarding landing page and pick up the expected tasks on day 2
Using this principle of a single HoverPoint image allowing us to easily navigate around to whatever content we want to present the new joiner with can be a very effective experience for your starters and you can assure they have gone through all information you want them to go through in a structured way.
