How to locate Workspace Template IDs in ConneX

There are some situations where you will need to find a Workspace Template ID. Setting up additional customised 'workspace categories' in ConneX as well as setting up the appropriate input information for running the Atlasifying script for existing SharePoint sites are 2 examples where workspace template IDs are needed to be fetched..

Please see instructions below for finding the Workspace IDs for ConneX Studio templates.

Please note at the moment we can only find these IDs from the ‘new workspace’ button in ConneX. For any ConneX Studio templates which are switched off and unavailable for use, if you need these template IDs you will need to switch them on temporarily to fetch the IDs.

• Load ConneX ‘all workspaces’ view in your browser
• Right click and select ‘Inspect’ or press F12 to bring up developer tools. You can expand this window to the left if it’s too small.
• From the top-right you need to select the ‘Network’ tab and should look like the below with multiple columns.

• Now the network tab is open, you can click the ‘New Workspace’ button in ConneX
• Once this new window has loaded you can type in ‘en-us’ in the small search field within the network tab as shown here.

• This will bring up 2x en-US entries. Select the second en-US that has the ‘sp-pages’ initiator text

• When you click on this option, you will see some new tabs open on the right. Preview is the easiest formatting to work with.

• You can see below that the 4 options show up as 4 categories in the Preview tab. If you expand each of these you will see the name of the relevant category

• Below is showing the ‘Knowledge’ category. If I select the second arrow next to the word 'templates' to expand the ‘templates section’ this will show me all workspace template types available within ‘Knowledge’

• I now have 3x template IDs within the ‘knowledge’ type, although you won't know which ID is for which workspace template type until you expand each ID option numbered 0, 1 or 2 below.

 

• Below, the name field will tell me which workspace template this is, in this case ‘knowledge workspace (teams)'. Both ‘id’ fields will show the template ID. This is the ID you need for Atlasifying script.

• Collate workspace IDs accordingly complete with name or label so you know which one is which
